Update licence details
You should notify the BLA in writing immediately if the following changes take place:
Individual Notification Matters
- If you have been charged, had a charge proved against you without a conviction (e.g. fined, placed on a bond), been found guilty or convicted in relation to an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking with a penalty of 3 months imprisonment or more (whether or not any term of imprisonment was imposed)
- If you have been charged, had a charge proved against you, had a penalty imposed (e.g. fined) or been convicted in relation to an offence against the Motor Car Traders Act 1986
- Change in principal place of business, registered office or any other place where you carry on business
- Change in business name(s) under which you carry on business
- Any changes to your addresses or contact details including email addresses
- Change in the internet site maintained by you
- If you have ceased or intend to cease trading as a Motor Car Trader.
Company Notification Matters
- If any director(s), or any person listed in an Annual Statement or the company itself has been charged, had or a charge proved without a conviction (e.g. fined, placed on a bond), been found guilty or convicted in relation to an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking with a penalty of 3 months imprisonment or more (whether or not any term of imprisonment was imposed)
- If any director(s), or any person listed in an Annual Statement or the company itself has been charged, had a charge proved, had a penalty imposed or been convicted in relation to an offence against the Motor Car Traders Act 1986
- Change in principal place of business, registered office or any other place where the company carries on business
- Change in business name(s) under which the company carries on business
- Change in directors or their addresses and contact details
- Any changes to company addresses or contact details including email addresses
- Change in the internet site address maintained by the company
- If the company had ceased or intends to cease trading as a Motor Car Trader.
Partnership Notification Matters
- If any partner(s) or any person listed in an Annual Statement has been charged, had a charge proved without a conviction (e.g. fined, placed on a bond), been found guilty or convicted in relation to an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking with a penalty of 3 months imprisonment or more (whether or not any term of imprisonment was imposed)
- If any partner(s) or any person listed in this Annual Statement has been charged, had a charge proved, had a penalty imposed or been convicted in relation to an offence against the Motor Car Traders Act 1986
- Change in principal place of business, registered office or any other place where the partnership carries on business
- Change in business name(s) under which the partnership carries on business
- Changes to partnership including dissolution of the partnership
- Change in addresses and contact details of the partners
- Any changes to partnership’s addresses or contact details including email addresses
- Change in the internet site maintained by the partnership
- If the partnership had ceased or intends to cease trading as a Motor Car Trader.
Endorsement of changes needed
When you notify the BLA of ceasing or commencing to trade at a particular premises, you must return your licence to the BLA for cancellation or endorsement. If you do not, you risk a fine.
